OVERVIEW
- Phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), along with sulfur (S) and boron (B), are essential nutrients needed for a balanced crop nutrition program in soybeans.
- MicroEssentials S10 supplies multiple nutrients fused into one nutritionally balanced granule, promoting uniform nutrient distribution, increased nutrient uptake, two forms of S for season-long availability and higher yields.
- Aspire combines potash along with two forms of B (fast and slow release) in every granule for uniform distribution, season-long B availability, and a flexible application window.
TRIAL DETAILS
Crop: Soybean (Glycine max)
Years: 2019–2020
Locations: 5 trials across the following states – KS, MO, NE
Data Source: Field studies conducted by independent, third-party researchers.
Experimental Design: Small-plot RCBD with 4 replications.
Cropping Conditions: All trials conformed to local cropping practices.
TREATMENTS:
Treatment (Trmnt) / Rates / Timing:
- P Rate: 40 lbs P₂O₅/ac applied as MAP or MicroEssentials S10
- K Rate: 60 lbs K₂O/ac applied as MOP or Aspire
- S Rate: 10 lbs S/ac applied as a blend of MicroEssentials S10
- Application Timing: Spring Preplant
Application Method: Broadcast Incorporated
RESULTS
SUMMARY
- Soybean yield increased with the addition of S and B.
- MicroEssentials S10 + Aspire increased soybean yield 3.7 bu/ac over MAP + MOP.
- Higher yields with the Performance Acre demonstrate the value of a variety of macro- and micronutrients, uniform nutrient distribution, increased nutrient uptake, and two forms of S (sulfate and elemental) and B (sodium and calcium borate) for a balanced crop nutrition program in soybeans.
